MUSEUM AND FRONT DESK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The S S Sicamous Marine Society is looking for Museum and Front Desk Reception Volunteers
If you are friendly, approachable, and open-minded them come join us in meeting and greeting visitors and tourists.
Duties of the reception volunteers are:
· greet visitors
· direct visitors to exhibits or staff as needed
· assist visitors with specific services (gift shop, utilizing research library)
· report problems or safety issues to staff
· light duty cleaning as needed
*Would be awesome if you were comfortable using the cash register, but not a must!
Time commitment: One 3-4 hr shift per week. Volunteers may commit to more than one shift if they would like.
Skills required: Good interpersonal and conversational skills are a must. An interest in local history, fluency in a second language is an asset.
Perks: All training is provided. When not assisting guests, reception volunteers are welcome to utilize and enjoy the Museum’s exhibits, and wifi, or enjoy their own quiet activities at the front desk. We also hold an appreciation event for our volunteers every year.
